Portrait of Greg Brown, photographer

I shoot people. With a camera, obviously.

I'm Greg, a portrait and people photographer based in Zürich. I started young. I got my first camera at four, my first pro body at 15, and have been shooting professionally since 2008. I speak English, German, Italian, French and a bit of Spanish. I've lived in eight countries across four continents, so I'm happy and ready to travel for the right project.

I make honest images of real humans, no stiff poses, no cheesy filters. Calm direction, flattering light and a bit of banter so you forget about the lens. My work spans private and corporate events, business reportage, portraits, personal branding and video. I work with social media folks, pharmaceutical and IT teams, and a mix of companies and organisations including eBay, the hepart group, the Stiftung für Gesundheit und Umwelt, and Social Drinks led by Baschi Sale. See more in my references section.

My Style

My style is clean and modern reportage. I generally don't retouch skin and things. I believe you're already photogenic, and with the right angles, light and posing direction, anyone can be beautiful. I keep my photo edits to exposure (light), colour and crop. I prefer environmental portraits outdoors, but I can bring a full kit indoors when you need a consistent look, including lights, powerful flash units and various background options.

The personal side

I shoot in Black and White because I see the contrast better, converting to true-to-life colour in post. I like cooking (and eating), travelling, and the great outdoors. I'm a tea person, not a coffee drinker, but I do like tiramisu (weird, right?), I'm a dad to a brilliant ten-year-old daughter, who is one of my biggest fans. I live together with my partner in the quiet village of Nänikon, about 15 minutes away from the centre of Zürich.

Alongside client work, I create fine art photography from Switzerland and my travels abroad. If you're choosing a piece of art for your space, send a quick room photo and I'll mock it up to scale so you can visualise it at home.
